Decade Etching Primer (TS-664) is very well liked because it creates an exceptionally tenacious bond to virtually any surface it is applied to. It makes painting wood, concrete, plastic, aluminum, tile, steel, vinyl even composite materials such as TimberTech and Trex a no-brainer. It covers in just one coat producing a tenacious bond quickly and effectively without the worry of mixing multiple components or limited pot life. It is highly effective, economical to use and easy to apply. Etching Primer produces a sound base in preparation for 10-Year Deck Paint. The build is high, it will fill and seal small cracks and voids. It can be built up with a brush to fill larger voids then sanded smooth. It is flexible enough to be applied directly vinyl sheet goods. It may be used in areas where there is light motorized traffic. 

Decade Etching Primer meets government specification number TT-P-664D so you know you are getting the best. It is a hi-performance phenolic modified alkyd primer specially formulated for use on hard to paint surfaces. It is a high solid primer that dries fast, inhibits rust, is resistant to salt, pool chemicals hot solvents and standing water without the worry of lifting or wrinkling.

Stats: This product is intended to serve as a primer. A protective coating  must be applied over it as a wear layer. Typical coverage is 250-300 square feet per gallon, depending on the texture and porosity of the surface being treated. Dries to the touch in 30 minutes. Recoatable in 2 hours. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Allows for low temperature curing (as low as 35 F.) Color: White or Red Oxide. Finish is low sheen.

Recommended preparation: Refer to Application Instructions Sheet, label directions and standard industry application practices. For best results remove existing deck paints, deck coatings, loose scale, wax, oil and contaminates. For best results sand prior to the application. All substrates must have maximum 19% or less moisture content.

Thin & clean up: Use only with factory recommended thinner (TS-605 Thinner).
